“Aspen is full of freaks, heads, fun-hogs and weird night-people of every description… With no front teeth, wearing a grey sweatshirt and no bra, a very heavy young girl” shows up to vote in the Edwards election. She is the embodiment of Head Culture, to who voting is a “heavy matter with psychic implications” when compared to the option of simply ‘dropping out’ of the system altogether. The scat vocals in this song represent the trippy, ‘heavy’ protagonist.
